Dr. van der Heijden, Assistant Professor of Medicine, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has completed formal training in epidemiology and biostatistics. In collaboration with Dr. Leslie (AHRI) he has helped coordinate studies in SA involving large observational TB cohorts, with particular attention to the important TB co-morbidities HIV and diabetes. He will work closely with Dr. Sterling in support of data harmonization across the SA sites and with international RePORT cohorts.
