Sungkyoung Lee, PhD is the Senior Staff Scientist of the National Institute of Infectious Disease, Korea National Institute of Health (KNIH). She received her PhD in Biophysics from the Department of Biological Science, Seoul National University.

Until 2013, her research area was the diagnosis and pathology of pneumococcal pneumonia and she participated in the WHO-coordinated Global Invasive Bacterial Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (IB-VPD) Laboratory Network surveillance project. Since 2014, she has focused on discovering new antigen of LTBI diagnosis, as well as omics biomarkers for monitoring TB treatment.
