Dr. Seonghan Kim is the director of the Division of Bacterial Disease Research, Korea National Institute of Infectious Disease (KNIID), Korea National Institute of Health (KNIH). He is currently working on planning research projects focusing on tuberculosis and unresolved bacterial infectious disease and managing international and domestic research projects supported by the intramural grant. He has performed his own research project about developing therapeutic drugs and biomarkers and advancing diagnostic systems. After major biology in college, he earned a master’s degree in microbiology and a doctorate in bacterial genetics at Korea University. He has contributed to studying the mechanism of resistance and tolerance to antimicrobial drugs in enteric bacteria and Mtb at KNIH since 1996.
