Dr. Sanjay Gaikwad is a Pulmonary Medicine specialist with more than 20 years of experience in medical education and clinical research in the field of tuberculosis. Currently, he is Professor and Head of the Department of Pulmonary Medicine in a large tertiary teaching institution, the Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Government Medical College and Sassoon General Hospitals in Pune, India. He is involved in several clinical and operational research activities at International, State/National levels and their centre serves a large number of patients with pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis. He has a patent on his name published in World Intellectual Patent Organization for the breathing mask for preventing airborne diseases. He serves as site investigator and will provide scientific inputs and implementation at the BJ Government Medical College study site for RePORT India.
