Liu Yuhong Liu earned a PhD from the Beijing Tuberculosis & Thoracic Tumor Research Institute for Microbiology and Immunology. Presently, she is the assistant director of the national Clinical Center on Tuberculosis, China CDC (CCTB), and director of the Managing Office of China Tuberculosis Clinical Trial Consortium (CTCTC). She has worked for China’s National TB Reference Laboratory from 1994 to 2007 with major work on China’s laboratory network quality assurance and drug resistance surveillance. She has served as a national professional officer for the Stop TB Unit at WHO’s China office from 2007 to 2013 with a focus on laboratory network strengthening and Programmatic Management of MDR-TB.
Presently, Liu Yuhong responsibility is to coordinate CCTB and CTCTC operations. These include – working on the development of China’s national clinical guidelines on TB diagnosis and treatment, promotion of standard care in nationwide TB hospitals in China, organizing quality assessment and technical support for TB hospital network in China, implementing and coordinating the national and international collaborative project, providing support to the development of China clinical trial network. Liu Yuhong is also the core group member of ETTI (End TB Transmission Initiative) in partnership with WHO.
