Fatima Jones, Ph.D., MPH., is Chief of the Laboratory and Clinical Sciences Branch (LCSB) within the Therapeutics Research Program at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Division of AIDS (NIAID/DAIDS). She currently oversees the scientific and programmatic management of a large portfolio of DAIDS-funded research grants, laboratory quality assurance contracts, and clinical trials to support the advancement of novel therapeutics and diagnostics strategies, including biomarkers and point-of-care tests, for HIV, TB, and related coinfections. Her background includes over 12 years of experience supporting HIV and TB clinical research studies and health systems strengthening initiatives in low and middle-income countries. She received her Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry from Yale University and master’s in public health from the Harvard T Chan School of Public Health.
