Derek Armstrong is a Laboratory Research Manager at Johns Hopkins University, Center for TB Research. He oversees laboratory activities and quality management for TB research trials across various international research consortia. Derek has led efforts for TB diagnostics evaluations, including the first research trials with the Cepheid GeneXpert Ultra and the BDMax assay. His work also includes validations of new diagnostics for both TB and NTM detection and determination of drug resistance amongst new and novel drugs including the BPaL regimen.
