Dr. Fourie, Research Professor (Extraordinary), University of Pretoria, is a previous RePORT South Africa investigator who led the national TB research efforts of the South African Medical Research Council as Director for 13 years. Since 2011 his research work has been focused on rapid, robust, low-cost molecular diagnostics for TB and TB drug resistance, in particular collection-to-detection systems that include improvement for increased molecular yield. He will lead the UP clinical site activities, screening for recruitment into Common Protocol Cohort A.
