Alix Boisson-Walsh, PhD, MSc, is the Director of Research Operations in the Center for Emerging Pathogens, Division of Infectious Diseases at Rutgers University – New Jersey Medical School. She specializes in implementation science, health system strengthening, and infectious disease research in low- and middle-income settings. She provides strategic leadership and technical and fiscal oversight for international clinical research initiatives in infectious diseases and leads the implementation science research endeavors within the group.

At Rutgers, she leads a team of 17 professionals across 16 human research protocols in Uganda, South Africa, Brazil, Peru, India, Moldova, Vietnam, and the Philippines, supported by seven NIH awards and three non-NIH awards. This work spans adult and pediatric populations, addressing multidrug-resistant TB, biomarker discovery, diagnostic evaluation, and longitudinal epidemiologic research.
